Frequently Asked Questions
We provide ABA therapy for children diagnosed with autism or similar conditions. ABA is an evidence-based approach that helps improve communication, social skills, and daily living abilities. Our therapy is personalized to each child’s unique needs, with one-on-one support from trained RBTs.
Please note: At this time, we do not provide mental health counseling.
We do currently have a waitlist due to the high demand for ABA therapy. Because our services are one-on-one with a trained RBT, availability depends on staffing and the level of care required for each child. We’re working hard to reach as many families as possible.
For most commercial insurance plans, a diagnosis of autism or a similar condition is required for prior authorization of ABA therapy. However, we offer summer “mini-camps” through the CLTS program or private pay, which may not require a specific diagnosis, depending on your child’s needs.
To add your child to the waitlist, please complete our initial intake packet on found under the ‘Getting Started” tab. The packet includes a checklist of required documents, such as your child’s diagnosis, insurance card(s), and IEP (if applicable). Having this information submitted up front helps us prepare for a smoother intake process when a spot becomes available. This information can be dropped off to our office, mailed, faxed or sent via email to [email protected]
Our team is actively working through the waitlist, but due to the individualized nature of ABA therapy and the staffing required, it does take time. We are committed to providing high-quality care and will contact you as soon as we have an available spot.
We work with many commercial insurance plans, but coverage can vary. To confirm whether we accept your specific insurance, please contact our office or check with your insurance provider. Keep in mind that most commercial plans require a diagnosis of autism (or similar) for ABA therapy authorization.
Session lengths vary based on each child’s individualized treatment plan. Most sessions range from 2 to 7 hours, with the total number of weekly hours determined by the child’s needs, age, insurance, and the treatment team’s recommendations.
ABA sessions are tailored to your child’s goals and may include activities that target communication, social skills, self-help, and behavior regulation. Sessions are one-on-one with a trained RBT and take place at Motiv8. We tend to take a natural or play-based approach to your child’s learning to make learning fun and exciting!
Currently, our services are offered within our facility located in Reedsburg, WI. If you would like to schedule a time to tour our facility please feel free to request a visit by emailing [email protected]
Parent involvement is a key part of ABA therapy. We encourage regular collaboration, which may include parent training sessions, goal reviews, and strategies for supporting your child’s progress at home. Your child’s treatment team will work with you to ensure you feel informed and involved.
Your child’s progress will be regularly monitored through data collection, assessments, and goal reviews. We hold periodic meetings with parents to discuss progress, review treatment plans, and adjust goals as needed.
Yes! As part of your child’s treatment with Motiv8, we can work on skills that help with smoother transitions to school or other learning environments. This may include collaborating with teachers, practicing social skills, or working on adaptive behaviors.
While ABA is most commonly associated with autism treatment, it can also benefit children with other developmental or behavioral challenges. However, some commercial insurance plans may require an autism diagnosis for ABA coverage.
As part of your child’s treatment, he/she may be involved in food tolerance programming. However, at this time, we do not offer a structured or licensed form of feeding therapy. It may be beneficial to reach out to your local healthcare provider/center as some speech-pathologists or occupational therapists have additional training in this area.
We are so happy you have chose to join our Motiv8 family! There are many other providers who can also help your child achieve their goals. While you are waiting to begin therapy, you can reach out to your county and see if your child may qualify for benefits from the Children’s Long-Term Support Program. You can also contact your local healthcare facility or see who is in-network with your insurance to determine if your child would qualify for speech, occupational, or physical therapy, if appropriate. Keep an eye out on our website and Facebook page for exciting upcoming events throughout the year as well!
