No Surprise Act

• The No Surprises Act gives you the right to know how much your medical care will cost before you get it, if you are paying with cash. 
• This law requires healthcare providers to give you an estimate of the bill for medical items and services if you don’t have insurance or aren’t using it.
• You can get a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, such as medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
• Your healthcare provider must give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.
• You can also ask for one before scheduling an item or service.
• If your bill is $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute it. 
• Remember to keep a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
